Meet the men behind the mortgage company

It all started with two friends boating out on the water with a big dream–to bring a personalized experience to the wholesale mortgage world. Scott and Dan are big fans of boating. They have spent many days together navigating the channels of Annapolis, MD. Even if you get lost in choppy waters, you can always find your way home by looking out for the red triangle channel markers on the right side of your boat. This was the idea that sparked the name behind Channel Marker Mortgage.

Daniel Tinnin

Managing Partner, NMLS 1101919

Dan founded Channel Marker Mortgage in 2023 after building a strong foundation in the mortgage industry that began in 2013. Starting as a Loan Officer, he steadily advanced into a Sales Manager role, leading and mentoring a team of 10 professionals.

Dan is committed to delivering highly competitive, financially strategic loan solutions tailored to each client’s goals. He continually invests in his education and industry knowledge to ensure every borrower receives a thoughtful, personalized plan. His dedication to exceptional service and hands-on approach to every transaction are what truly distinguish him in the marketplace.

Dan is a family man, happily married to his wife Mia and devoted father to his 4 sons. When he isn’t working for his clients, he’s somewhere near the water either fishing, boating or relaxing by the beach.

Scott Van Stone

Scott founded Channel Marker Mortgage in 2023. Scott has dedicated over 15 years to the world of finance. He is a proud alumnus of the University of Maryland, holding a Bachelor's degree that has served as the foundation for his successful career. His expertise and commitment to excellence are underscored by his certification as a Mortgage Planner. He has a deep understanding of the complexities within the mortgage landscape. His passion for empowering individuals with financial solutions and his strategic approach to mortgage planning make him a trusted professional in the industry. Scott's commitment to his clients is evident in every aspect of his work.

Scott is a family man, married to his wife Melissa and proud father to his daughter and golden retriever named Norman. When he isn’t working for his clients, he’s probably out boating.

Justin Hampton

Real estate is one of the biggest financial decisions you'll make, and having the right mortgage team by your side makes all the difference. Justin joined Channel Marker Mortgage to be part of a company with a strong vision for the future. With nearly four years of experience in the mortgage industry, including over three years as a loan officer assistant, Justin brings a deep understanding of the loan process and a commitment to making homeownership as seamless as possible. He prides himself on being available to his borrowers seven days a week, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way.

When Justin is not working with clients, he’s spending time at home with his wife, Jordan, and their two kids. He also enjoys hitting the golf course, being out on the water, and watching sports.

Anthony Reno

With over two decades of experience in helping individuals achieve homeownership or secure more suitable financial solutions, Anthony Reno brings a deep well of knowledge and care to his role at Channel Marker Mortgage. Since 1999, he has worked tirelessly to guide clients through the lending process with transparency, expertise, and a commitment to their financial well-being.

Outside of work, Anthony is deeply involved in his nonprofit, Not My Child, a cause close to his heart. Founded in memory of his son Anthony Jr., whom he lost in 2017, the organization helps individuals gain access to education and trade skills, empowering them to find meaningful employment.

Lindsay Terry

Lindsay Terry brings over two decades of experience in sales, marketing, and customer service to her role as a Mortgage Advisor at Channel Marker Mortgage. A proud Virginia Tech graduate, Lindsay has been helping clients navigate the home financing process since 2003, with a particular passion for supporting first-time buyers and guiding families as they build generational wealth through homeownership.

Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and soaking in the beauty of Chesapeake Bay summers. Looking ahead, she’s excited to continue growing her career at Channel Marker Mortgage, staying rooted in an ever-evolving market while remaining a steady, trusted resource for her clients.

Based in northern Maryland, Cassie focuses on serving clients throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania. Her deep understanding of these markets allows her to provide tailored solutions that align with each client’s unique goals. Known for her hands-on approach and dedication to service, Cassie takes pride in guiding clients every step of the way, from pre-approval to closing day.

Katherine Holtan

Growing up in an Army family, Katherine is no stranger to frequent moves and the challenges that come with finding a new place to call home. When it came time to purchase a home of her own, she quickly realized how valuable it is to have guidance and support through every step of the homebuying process. Whether you're buying your first home or making another move along life's journey, Katherine is passionate about providing her time, knowledge, and unwavering support to help make the experience smooth and successful. Her goal is to ensure every client feels confident, informed, and cared for throughout the entire process.

When she’s not helping clients, Katherine enjoys adventures with her two daughters, exploring the outdoors, wrangling her two cats, and is also a certified yoga teacher.

Clifford “Trey” Quinn

Mortgage Advisor and Director of Correspondent Lending, NMLS 1118511

Trey began his career as a loan officer in the mortgage industry in 2014. Having worked as an operations manager and now director, he brings a unique perspective with a complete understanding of the mortgage process from start to finish. His understanding of the inner workings of the loan process, his financial analysis background, and advisory approach allow him to successfully lead clients from pre-approval to closing and beyond.

 Trey is proud alumnus of Hood College in Frederick, MD where he received a B.A. in Economics summa cum laude with a focus in International Economics. Trey, also, served as the Hood College basketball team captain and was twice selected as an Academic All-Conference Player.

He was raised and continues to live in Annapolis, MD with his wife, Lucy. When he is not in the office, Trey’s passion for basketball has continued as he serves as the head men’s basketball coach at his alma mater, St. Mary’s High School.
